For the Selection of Rank all over India we find different procedure in  Every Colleges, there are certain procedure which might be same in every colleges and battalion , the points are

• Many colleges or battalion conduct Written Exam ,so you have to get knowledge about special subject  and comman subject
• Improve your Drill and your  word of command must be best
• Your Turnout must be Best among your fellow cadets
• Descipline and Leadership quality is must  
• Be punctual and be close to ANO ,PI STAFF or CO of your Battalion
• Try to complete Nation Camp in NCC , so they think that you are experinced Person in NCC 
• You must have to get noted by your ANO or CO sir in good manner then your chances might increase to get Rank
• Must have ability to teach your junior in polite way so that they mark your words
• If you have completed RDC,TSC NSC,VSC  you might have a chance to getting Rank

If you follow the points above then there is no person in world to stop grabbing Rank
